The 97th Sig Bn Assn was founded
May 1989 and is incorporated in the state of Arizona as a non-profit organization.
The objectives of the association are to create a fraternal order
of persons that served with the 97th Signal Battalion in order to perpetuate
the bonds of comradeship, loyalty and devotion to country that was demonstrated
in war and peace since the unit's activation 10 April 1942 at Fort Sam
Houston, TX.
Membership is open to all former 97th and attached unit's members. Dues
are ten dollars ($10.00) per year and is payable on 1 January of the dues
years. We also offer lifetime membership at one-hundred twenty-five
dollars ($125.00) which can be paid in five equal consecutive payments
of $25.00. Widows, children and other close family of former 97th
members are afforded Associate status and dues are not required.
The Association holds annual national reunions and also what is referred
to as "MINI" reunions.
More info on both the national and mini reunions will appear in
future issues of 'THE COMMUNICATOR', the association newsletter,

We are asking any member that reads this page to contact the Secretary
to give their names to be inserted in our name bank. There is at
least one person in this world that is searching for you. An old
97th buddy says! It is always a pleasure to see or hear from an
old 97th hand, because the 97th Sig Bn was the very best Signal Battalion
the U.S. Army ever fielded, bar none!! So search those files, records
and memories and send that list of former 97th "Tried and Truers"
to the Secretary. You will never regret the gesture.
